Summer Olympic Math Area Ideas

Here are some pictures of the items we are using in our math area that go along with the Summer Olympics. This first picture is of a simple Sorting Game using colored fruit pieces and a clear party tray from the Dollar Store that I labled with the colors the children could sort the fruit by.

The next is a Short Path Game called "Help the swimmer get to the Gold Medal". The children take turns rolling a die to move spaces ( there are 10 spaces on each game board).

The last Math Area idea is a 10 spot grid game. This game can be played with 2 children or just one child can play. To play this game children take turns rolling the die, then each children covers the number of spaces on their grid with the  glass accent stones.
